Aquatech Messe

Sommer & Strassburger at the fair AQUATECH

The AQUATECH in Amsterdam is a trade fair for process, drinking and waste water. Sommer und Strassburger/ INEX Solution is one of more than 800 exhibitors. Around 20,000 participants come to find out about drinking water, industrial/waste water treatment, water transportation, supply facilities and much more. Stainless steel is the material of choice in many areas of water treatment. Our stainless steel systems and components such as membrane housings, cartridge and bag filter housings and heat exchangers can be used for many different applications: pharmaceutical water, dialysis water, brewing water or water for beverage mixing – wherever quality makes the difference.
Our sales team is at your disposal and looks forward to sharing this year’s innovations with you. Among other things, our stand this year will provide exciting insights into Klar 2 O’s work in the field of microplastic removal.

Stainless steel accompanies green hydrogen

The components used for the transport or storage of green hydrogen require hydrogen-resistant properties to ensure the safety of this critical infrastructure. Hydrogen atoms can diffuse into metallic materials and lead to material failure due to hydrogen embrittlement. Stainless steels of grades 1.4435, 1.4404 and 1.4307 are used as standard for components that come into contact with hydrogen. For particularly critical applications with extreme corrosion resistance requirements, for example in aggressive chemical environments, stainless steels such as 1.4439, 1.4462 (duplex) and 1.4410 (super duplex) have proven their worth due to their higher strength and improved resistance. By selecting the right material, it is possible to ensure that the integrity and safety of components in hydrogen-ducting systems is maintained over long periods of time.

We at Sommer & Strassburger GmbH have been building buffer tanks for hydrogen since 2004 and look forward to supporting you with our many years of expertise.

Membrane housings since 34 years

As part of our anniversary challenge, we received an inspiring response from Eugen Reinhardt, Dauborn GmbH from Ratzeburg:

“From 1989 to 1991, I built up the membrane department at Tuchenhagen, Büchen. At that time, the application “dealcoholisation of beer” using reverse osmosis was very topical. […] The concept presented by Mr Kluge and Mr Hilpp from Sommer and Strassburger for the hygienic pressure pipe was very convincing. After receiving the offer, we immediately placed an order. It was the number one hygienic pressure pipe for reverse osmosis applications.”

We would like to thank you for this feedback and look forward to other contributions from our 50-year history.

We still produce hygienic membrane housings – we would be pleased to receive your detailed enquiry via our enquiry form:
