INEX-solutions opens US sales office

We are expanding our service for American customers with a new sales office in Fort Mill (near Charlotte) in the US state of South Carolina. Our sales representative Mike Birkle has recently become your contact on site and can therefore be reached directly and, above all, without a time difference. This not only shortens communication channels and response times, but also makes it easier for you to handle demanding projects on American soil. Mike will advise you on your stainless steel projects and coordinate all processes with our German development and production facilities at INEX, Hubl GmbH and Sommer & Strassburger GmbH. The new US sales office is located on Old Bails Road in Fort Mill and is therefore easily accessible via the Fort Mill Highway. The exact address from which Mike Birkle will support you, your concerns and projects is INEX-solutions USA, Inc. 9499 Old Bails Road, Suite 216 Fort Mill, SC 29707. Mike himself can be reached for enquiries by mobile phone at +1(704) 906-3967 or by e-mail at mike.birkle(at)inex-solutions.de.

Membrane housings since 34 years

As part of our anniversary challenge, we received an inspiring response from Eugen Reinhardt, Dauborn GmbH from Ratzeburg:

“From 1989 to 1991, I built up the membrane department at Tuchenhagen, Büchen. At that time, the application “dealcoholisation of beer” using reverse osmosis was very topical. […] The concept presented by Mr Kluge and Mr Hilpp from Sommer and Strassburger for the hygienic pressure pipe was very convincing. After receiving the offer, we immediately placed an order. It was the number one hygienic pressure pipe for reverse osmosis applications.”

We would like to thank you for this feedback and look forward to other contributions from our 50-year history.

We still produce hygienic membrane housings – we would be pleased to receive your detailed enquiry via our enquiry form:

Hygienic Design – Drainability and riboflavin test of vessels and filter housings

In very hygiene-critical applications such as in the healthcare or food & beverage industry, drainability is of great importance.(gravity drainage). We are happy to support you with a suitable design, for example with special fittings, surfaces with a slope and a roughness of up to Ra ≤ 0.38 µm. We will discuss your test protocol for the drainability of the housing or vessel at the start of your project and consider the current ASME BPE guidelines. We can document the drainability for your end customer with a video we create.

All surfaces that come into contact with the product must either be easily accessible for manual cleaning or it must be demonstrated that automated cleaning in place (clean-in-place CIP) produces compliant results. So-called dead spaces, i.e. areas that are not wetted by the cleaning medium (spray shadows), are particularly feared. CIP lances are often used in containers and filter housings. We are happy to offer you CIP lances with customised spray balls adapted to your application.

To verify the wettability of surfaces in contact with the product, we offer you the so-called riboflavin test. In this test, riboflavin (a fluorescent vitamin) is applied to the product-wetted area, after which a CIP rinse (modelled on reality) is carried out. An UV lamp is then used to check whether fluorescent riboflavin is still present on the surfaces in the filter housing/ vessel. Your advantage with Sommer & Strassburger is our decades of experience in the design, manufacture and documentation of pharmaceutical filter housings and vessels!

Contact us, we can also make your system completely drainable!

Export of pressure vessels according to JIS (Japanese industrial standard)

The Japanese Industrial Standards define the standards that are used in industry in Japan. The design of pressure equipment according to JIS is based on ASME, but there are some special requirements for the selection of materials and parts. For example, sight glasses and screws must undergo a separate component test in accordance with Japanese national regulations. Although TÜV Rheinland Industrie Service GmbH, for example, is usually used as the designated foreign testing agency (DFTA) for a tank manufactured in Germany, it is up to the Japanese authority to determine the scope of testing in Japan. As a rule, a document check and a visual inspection including a dimensional check are carried out on site in Japan. We have already successfully completed several projects with export to Japan, for example a vessel with manufacturing/calculation basis according to ASME Section VIII Div.1 / Edition 2021 (Joint Efficiency E=0.7) with classification according to JIS B8265:2017: Second class pressure Vessel.
Get in touch with us, we will get your export to Japan off the ground – and not just during the cherry blossom season!
